I find it extraordinary that in 2023 I'm even saying something like this but has this new government traded peoples lives in order to fund tax cuts for the wealthy?

I am of course talking about the decision to scrap New Zealand's world-leading 'generation ban' on smoking.

Some health experts are saying this repealing could cost up to 5,000 lives per year. It is morally bankrupt, and I am utterly stunned.
